Wifi Dabba is a pioneer in building and operating low cost public wifi networks in India since 2017. Dabba Network was created in 2023 as a web3 DePin hotspot project building on the Solana blockchain and having deployed thousands of hotspots across India serving users with super fast and super cheap internet.

Dabba's investors include Multicoin capital, Borderless capital, Y combinator along with a handfull of private angel investors.

Mobile networks (4G/5G) are crucial for on-the-go connectivity, but fiber offers the unbeatable combination of stability and high speed, perfect for homes and offices with demanding internet needs. True economic growth thrives on a powerful combination of both mobile and fixed broadband.

Studies suggest a link between high broadband penetration (like China's 625 million connections for 1.425 billion people or the US's 120 million for 330 million) and GDP growth. Currently, India has only 30 million fiber connections for 1.425 billion people, a significant gap to bridge.

With an internet penetration rate of only around 50%, expanding fiber access empowers individuals and fuels economic development, as internet access goes beyond just communications today.

The enormous amount of capital and manpower required for building and maintaining traditional telecommunication infrastructure acts a significant barrier to exapnsion.

The DePIN model allows these requirements to be shared amongst several stakeholders who in turn are fairly rewarded according to their contributions to deploying and maintaining the network. This allows for faster deployment and growth of the infrastructure network compared to traditional models.

Dabba focuses on real-world utility by deploying hotspots in areas with high demand and where they become the primary source of internet access. What makes Dabba unique is its managed deployment model that ensures there is no idle hotspot. Learn more about Dabba’s managed deployment model here

Dabba Lite acts as the last-mile access point for users on the Dabba Network. When you purchase a Dabba Lite, you're not just buying hardware — each unit currently comes bundled with pre-loaded genesis rewards.

Please note: the device is not shipped to you. Instead, it is professionally deployed in India by Dabba’s on-ground partners.

While hotspot deployments will begin after the Token Generation Event (TGE), you must activate your hotspot during the onboarding window (to be announced) in order to unlock your genesis rewards and become eligible for mainnet rewards.

$DBT is Dabba’s utility token. $DBT powers the entire Dabba ecosystem and is used to reward hotspot owners, LCOs, backhaul providers, and more. Learn more about how $DBT powers the Dabba ecosystem here

Once the onboarding window is opened (to be announced soon), you should be able to complete your KYC and pay the hotspot activation fee ($100 in DBT) to start unlocking genesis rewards post TGE and also make your hotspot/s eligible for mainnet rewards.

TGE stands for token generation event.

Our token (DBT) has not launched yet, at launch you will be able to find and buy the token across decentralized and centralized exchanges.

The team is finalising exchanges and partnerships in order to achieve a successful TGE.

Solana

The LCO is responsible for all maintenance of your hotspot. If the hotspot is malfunctioning or damaged. The LCO will repair or replace the hotspot if necessary.

It's important to note that LCO's also receive rewards, if hotspot are not functioning properly their rewards are affected as well, learn more here

Post TGE, after successful activation of your hotspot/s you’ll receive your hotspot ownership NFT. You will be able to sell your NFT on the open market. For refunds, please refer to our refund policy here:

Your genesis rewards are accumulated on the explorer, you can view them under 'my hotspots' after logging in here

You can claim these rewards after you onboard your device, they will unlock equally across the number of days you participated in genesis.

For example: if you participated in genesis for 30 days and received 3000 genesis rewards then after onboarding you will receive 3000 DBT equally over 30 days.

Once your hotspot is deployed you will receive rewards daily that are unlocked.

90% of your rewards are UBI i.e. rewards shared by all hotspot owners equally per hotspot.
10% of your rewards are performance based i.e. data consumption of your hotspot.

Rewards are accumulated within your account on the explorer.

You can choose when to transfer those rewards to a solana based wallet of your choosing whenever you like.

After your hotspot is deployed you are then responsible to ensure rewards to the stakeholders who maintain your hotspot are distributed. This is facilitated by the explorer and can either be set to distribute automatically or manually based on your preference.

Failure to distribute rewards after multiple reminders and notifications may result in penalties of rewards or even cancelation of your hotspot if not rectified.

You can join Wifi Dabba by purchasing a Dabba lite device and becoming a hotspot owner.

Yes, every hotspot owner receives a personalized referral link, hotspot owners receive rewards for all purchases made against their referral link.

You receive these rewards after the purchased hotspots have been deployed.

Dabba hotspots are currently in use across India. You'll find them deployed in co-living spaces, apartments, offices, and more, as the primary source of high-speed and reliable internet connectivity for end consumers.
